Knowledge is Power

Join us for a free community event where you will learn more about marijuana, Delta-8, Delta-9, and Delta-10! Officer Ben Miller, from the Watertown Police Department, will talk about current cannabis laws, different strains that are being sold, and common signs/symptoms of cannabis use. Officer Miller worked undercover for 4 years with the Drug Task Force and is a certified Drug Recognition Expert, having special training to recognize those under the influence of drugs. There will be snacks and other local resources from our community partners available along with a mock bedroom setup for those 21+ to learn more about ways substances are being concealed.

Come hear from those with lived experience, medical experts and more about the harms of substance misuse. There will be snacks and other local resources from our community partners available along with a mock bedroom setup for those 21+ to learn more about ways substances are being concealed.

More about the speakers:

Alex, 34, is from East Troy, Wisconsin. He has been in recovery for over 12 years, demonstrating remarkable resilience and commitment. As a dedicated stepfather to their daughter Zoey, Alex takes pride in being the best role model and caregiver possible. Their love for their dog, Babe, is evident in the joy and companionship they share. Alex's professional journey has led them to a career in construction, where he continues to excel and contribute to their field. With a strong foundation in sobriety, Alex embraces each day with gratitude and a determination to live their best life.

Rick & Erin Rachwal, LCSW, are grieving parents who tragically lost their 19-year-old son, Logan, to Fentanyl Poisoning on Valentine’s Day 2021. Married to her husband, Rick for 25 years, they reside in Pewaukee, WI and after losing Logan, they founded the LoveLogan Foundation non-profit charity in August 2022. They have 1 son, Caden, currently attending college in Phoenix, AZ. Erin is also an accomplished Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin. With 20+ years working in the behavioral and recovery space and 15 years of running her own private practice, she has extensive experience working with families, couples, Individuals and young adults. This unique combination of being a therapist, yet having had a child who struggled and died from a fake pill containing fentanyl gives Erin , and Rick, a unique perspective on the power of ONE pill turning tragedy into advocacy. Erin & Rick deliver a message of hope, compassion, determination and a compelling personal message to others to never say "Not my child".

More about the speaker: Kate Schulz of East Troy, former educator, Masters in Educational leadership, mom to Zoey, who’s 12, wife to Alex, and fur mom to Babe. Kate has faced numerous challenges over the years and continues to maintain a healthy life with hard work. Sober from alcohol for almost 7 years, survived one of the worst cases of popcorn lung to date, and has overcome addiction. Kate is passionate about sobriety, helping people, and sharing her story to hopefully help just one person.
